The High Court on Wednesday rejected a writ petition filed by Tarique Rahman, senior vice-chairman of BNP, challenging the proceedings of money laundering case against him.

Following the HC judgment, the case against him would run in the trial court, it said.

The HC bench of Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore rejected the writ petition, saying that the petition is not maintainable as per the provision of the constitution.

The lawyer of Tarique Rahman said they will file an appeal to the Appellate Division of Supreme Court challenging the HC judgment.
