TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Parliamentary drafting team on money laundry bill has completed the first stage of legislation for the proposed law which proves the undaunted determination of the parliament to exclude the Corruption Eradication Commission from money laundry field.
Lawmaker from Golkar Party Edison Betaubun said authority to work on the crime will remain exclusively in the Police Force and the Attorney General's Office.
Other institutions he ssaid could take part in the crime according to their respective functions, the anti-graft commission works on the graft element, when the element found in a money laundry case, while the Financial Transaction Report and Analysis Center will provide the financial records and reference.
The second stage for the bill is the synchronization
step and the third is the house plenary session.
