A former beauty queen pleaded guilty today to theft, forgery, identity theft, money laundering. A total of 140 counts in all.
Susan Shaw victimized more than 50 people according to deputy prosecutor Chris Van Marter, stealing upwards of $200,000.
Shaw's attorney, Myles Breiner, claims she needs mental health treatment. Breiner says Shaw has been in jail for nearly three years, which he thinks is long enough.
Van Marter says Shaw spent the money on expensive shopping sprees and to travel. He claims in a one year span she made more than 40 trips to the mainland.
Shaw will be sentenced in May by Circuit Court Judge Dexter Del Rosario.
She faces a handful of class a felonies which are punishable up to ten years in prison, and makes her ineligible for parole.
