Vancouver Police are studying better ways to catch money launderers in casinos according to a Deputy Chief.
Warren Lemke says Vancouver should insist on the tightest rules if the Edgewater Casino is expanded. He told a public hearing a committee is studying possible new policies and standards but adds right now bars and nightclubs are a bigger problem than the casino, "I don't think people are walking into casinos with duffel bags full of money. I don't think that's happening."
Lemke adds an expanded resort casino might mean police would ask for more resources to deal with potential problems there.
