The Supreme Court today pulled up the Union Government and directed it to disclose the identity of other people, besides Pune businessman Hassan Ali Khan, whose names have come up in the course of investigation in the black money case.
A bench comprising Justices B Sudershan Reddy and S S Nijjar issued the directions after it found that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was not revealing the names of persons, except Khan, who were being investigated in the case.
Petitioner Ram Jethmalani alleged that the top leadership of the ruling Congress party was interfering in the investigations.
The ED officials were reportedly annoyed with the pressure being brought upon them allegedly by some politicians to go slow in the investigation and maintain utmost secrecy with regard to disclosure of the names which are cropping up during the probe.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed the authorities to provide security to Khan and his family who are facing threat to their lives from the underworld.
The next hearing in the case will be held on April 15.
