A Monday morning narcotics investigation in Tiffin did not involve Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
A press release says despite "social media rumors" of ICE being present, no ICE agents were involved.
Police say the Johnson County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 480 Roberts Ferry Road in Tiffin in relation to a drug investigation. They worked in cooperation with Muscatine County Drug Task Force.
The sheriff's office says drug task force members "routinely wear plain clothes and drive unmarked police vehicles due to the nature of their work."
Authorities did not release any more information on the nature of the investigation or whether any is charged with a crime in the case.
