CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Three people are in custody for illegally distributing marijuana in Charlotte County, according to investigators.
On Wednesday, the Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force, Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, and Virginia State Police executed multiple search warrants in the county.
The search warrants were executed at A Smoke Zone LLC in Charlotte Court House and at an apartment near the Town of Keysville.
The investigation led to the seizure of multiple pounds of marijuana, scales, packaging material, and over $31,000 in cash.
The business owner, 51-year-old Abdul Abuzaid, of Keysville, was charged with the distribution of marijuana and money laundering.
Investigators also arrested 21-year-old Hood Abuzaid and 19-year-old Kyra Howard and charged them with the distribution of marijuana to a minor.
Hood Abuzaid was also wanted in Prince Edward County for failure to appear.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are forthcoming.
