POLICE investigating complaints about drug dealing in Blandford have arrested five people on suspicion of money laundering.

The arrests come after a warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Wednesday February 25.

Four men and a woman, all from the Blandford Forum area, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and released on bail until the beginning of next month pending further enquiries.

Five arrested on drugs charges after raid in Blandford

It follows a previous warrant that was executed at another address in the Blandford area on Tuesday February 17 where four men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug. All five have been released on bail until the end of April pending further enquiries.

Inspector Rob Chalkley of Blandford police, said: “The town is a very safe place to live, work and visit and we are working hard to keep it that way. This operation is a result of listening to what our community tell us, that drug dealing is a real concern.

“Controlled drugs cause significant harm to communities in terms of their impact on health and increased crime required to fund habits.

“If you are involved in the supply of drugs you can expect a visit from my officers.”
