The United States has agreed to offer Ghana support in her campaign to battle hi-tech crime and praised the government for its effort to tackle the new menace.

State prosecutors will also soon receive specialist training in terrorism, complex fraud, and money laundering and narcotics cases.

The agreement follows a meeting between Attorney General and Minister of Justice Betty Mould Iddrisu and her American counterpart, Eric Holder as part of the former's visit to the United States.

Mrs Iddrisu said the meeting was very successful and the two parties agreedto cooperate on law enforcement and continue to work together on matters of mutual national benefit.

Attorney General Eric Holder was also informed of the establishment of the economic and organised crime office and financial intelligence centre to fight money laundering and organised crime.

"I informed him that I had set up teams of state prosecutors to deal with newer and more complex criminal activity and sought America's assistance. Mr Holder gladly obliged," Mrs Iddrisu said.
