CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A Marshalltown woman will spend the rest of her life in federal prison for distributing more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine in Waterloo.
Marisol Lopez-Soto, 41, was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court to life in prison. She was convicted by a jury in August for one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and one count of money laundering.
Evidence presented during the three day trial showed Lopez-Soto was was involved in the distribution of more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine in Waterloo and laundered more than $100,000 of drug money, according to court records.
