A developer from McAllen and another man have been sentenced for their roles in a massive cocaine and money laundering case.
Marin Herrera and Omar Alvarez appeared for sentencing before U.S. District Court Judge Hayden Head in Corpus Christi on Monday.
The two men were accused in cocaine trafficking case where drugs were moved from the border to Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and Houston.
Prosecutors told Action 4 News that the men laundered more than $4 million dollars in drug profits.
Herrera, a 57-year-old McAllen resident, allegedly laundered some of the money in Corpus Christi area business, New Millenium Developers.
Prosecutors said Alvarez, a 38-year-old Sullivan City resident, used one of his homes there as a shipment location for cocaine and cash.
Judge Head ordered the seizure of 77 properties and sentence Herrera to 20 years in federal prison and a $25,000 dollar fine.
Alvarez was sentenced to 15 years in prison and a $25,000 dollar fine.
