NEW DELHI: The disbanded Indian Hockey Federation will hold its Annual General Body meeting on Sunday with its chief KPS Gill saying that he has not given up and will fight Hockey India out.

IHF was dissolved by the Indian Olympic Association after a bribery scandal involving the then IHF secretary K Jyothikumaran.

IOA then appointed an ad-hoc committee to run the hockey affairs in the country and later men's and women's associations merged to form Hockey India.

However, a democratically elected body is yet to be formed.

Gill, who had joined hands with Hockey India, said he had kept quite till date but now he will strengthen IHF to revive the game in the country.

"I tried to help the cause of hockey and extended my support to them but they construed it as my weakness. They tried to sideline me but I kept quiet in the interest of the Game and the World Cup.

"I have never given up in my life, Hockey India is the worst thing to happen to the Game and I promise to fight them out," he said in a statement.

Gill accused the HI officials of indulging in corruption and mismanagement.

"They are indulging in money laundering. They will have to answer to the people and the government what they have done with the money. The people who are running the show at present will have to answer about their mismanagement and misdeeds," the former Punjab Police chief said.

Gill accused that the foreign tours of the India hockey team have become "pleasure trips" for few officials.

"Unlike in IPL, the money squandered by the so called hockey officials is tax payers money and IHF will seek inquiry against them," he added.
