Sukhumi is bent upon to start construction of skyscrapers. Today the delegation of so-called "Parliament" of the Abkhazian puppet regime is arriving in order to look at to the example of the Academic Area of Yekaterinburg and share experience of its "realization of the project of integrated development of the territory".
It seems to be an ordinary visit and its goal also seems to be rather positive. However, what inappropriately comes to mind is that almost all places in Abkhazia that are suitable for such construction (as a rule, the coastal strip) are lined with private houses. While free spaces are used for cultivation, as this area is more agricultural and not all district centers can serve tourism purposes.
It is difficult to imagine a place in Abkhazia where you can freely build multi-storey buildings, and even more so neighborhoods of apartment blocks. The only exception is a new area in Sukhumi, which will have to be completely reshaped. In this light, intentions of the Kremlin's puppets look somewhat different. They want a large-scale construction project in order to have another scheme for laundering Russian money allocated for the "rehabilitation of Abkhazia". Construction might even begin with its "money laundering" and appropriation everything in place.
