SAN JOSE, Calif.—A Santa Clara County criminal defense attorney is facing prison time after being convicted of money laundering in a case involving computer equipment stolen from Cisco Systems.
Federal prosecutors say after deliberating for nearly three days, jurors found Jamie Harmon guilty Tuesday of five counts of money laundering.
During the trial, prosecutors said Harmon had accepted two checks from a San Jose company called Silicon Valley Resale. Those checks, according to prosecutors, were the proceeds from the sale of Cisco equipment that had been stolen while being trucked to Texas and Illinois.
The 53-year-old Morgan, who lives in Morgan Hill, is free on a personal appearance bond. She's due to be sentenced Oct. 25.
