The Arizona Republic The owners of a Scottsdale restaurant have been arrested in connection with a money-laundering scheme and selling marijuana and cocaine, according to court records.
Jessica Galan, 28, and Robert Davis, 38, who own Sultry Dogs restaurant near Old Town Scottsdale, were arrested Monday on charges including money laundering and conspiracy. Davis also was charged with selling narcotics and using electronic communication in a narcotic drug transaction. Galan and Davis are married.
Court documents say that between October 2007 and May 2008, Galan used her bank account to account to launder more than $245,000.
Galan was present in August when Phoenix police raided a Phoenix home where 10 pounds of marijuana, wrapping and shipping materials and large scales were seized.
Court documents said that over a two-week period starting Oct. 22, Davis used his phone at least 100 times to coordinate sales and money laundering of 10 kilograms of cocaine and a pound of methamphetamine with another man, Fidel Hernandez.Davis received the drugs from Hernandez and then arranged to sell the drugs to mid-level drug dealers based in Detroit, according to the documents.
The filing also stated that bank and police records indicated that Davis has been involved in criminal activity for at least two years.
