A New York man was arrested Wednesday and charged with money laundering after allegedly trying to use counterfeit $100 bills in Best Buy at the Garden State Plaza, police said.
Patrolmen Matthew Parrello and Brian Linden responded to the mall at about 4:45 p.m. Security officers there pointed out Christian Ardian, 30, and accused him of trying to use fake bills to make a purchase, police said.
An investigation confirmed that they were counterfeits, and Ardian was arrested, police said. After being transported to the Paramus Police Department and charged, Ardian was released after posting $2,500 bail.

Lagrone arrested Jeffrey Lozano, 19, of Belleville, and Shayla Heslen, 18, of Saddle Brook, on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were released on their own recognizance.
Saddle Brook man arrested at Garden State Plaza
Patrolmen Robert Brack and Keith Bland saw two suspicious men in the parking deck at Garden State Plaza on Feb. 4. When they approached at about 6 p.m., Nicholas Molinari, 21, fled on foot, police said.
Bland gave chase, caught up, and found the Saddle Brook resident to be in possession of marijuana, police said. Molinari was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
Molinari was released on his own recognizance. His friend was released without being charged.
