RIYADH - Saudi Arabia is in the front ranks of countries combating money laundering and terror financing according to a report by the International Financial Action Group and the Middle East Financial Action Group, it was reported here today.?
The report placed Saudi Arabia first in the Arab world and among the top ten of G20 countries?
The Kingdom was awarded those ranks at a meeting held by the well-known international financial institution in Amsterdam from June 23 to 25, based on a report approved by the Middle East group which took place in Tunis from May 2 to 5?
In a statement on the occasion, the Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency for the Standing Committee on Money Laundering Combat Dr. Mohammed Al-Jasser said the achievement has come as a result of the keenness and instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and the follow-up of the concerned governmental authorities.
