TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The House of Representatives (DPR) finally ratified the Bill on the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes yesterday. The DPR asked the government to immediately complete the related regulations such as government regulations, in time to meet the deadline. 揝o far, not many regulations can be applied yet because the implementing regulations are not yet in place,?said DPR member Abdul Hakim.
The Justice and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar hopes the regulations on money laundering can ensure legal certainty, law enforcement effectiveness , as well as the investigation and return of assets. 揟he improved rules on money laundering crimes are clearer and will not lead to misunderstandings,?said Patrialis, also present at the ratification event.
The process of clarifying has been done by inserting or adding formula on a few items, concerning charges against those hiding or falsifying the real origin, source, location, allocation, rights transfer, or ownership of assets that are known or which can be assumed to be the result of a crime.
