SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A former employee of a Sac City, Iowa bank will spend more than seven years in federal prison... and pay back more than $4-million dollars she admitted stealing from customers.
Last summer, 49-year old Charlene Pickhinke pleaded guilty to four criminal counts, including money laundering and wire fraud. Court records show Pickhinke sold more than 40 fraudulent certificates of deposits to customers.
She also admitted to opening two bank accounts using the names and Social Security numbers of dead bank customers... and using the accounts to launder proceeds from the scheme.
