A Nevada doctor who ran a clinic in Arizona has been sentenced to 2½ years in prison in a prescription drug and money laundering scheme.
State prosecutors said Friday that Dr. Albert Yeh also will pay more than $683,000 in restitution to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System and surrender his medical license in Arizona and Nevada.
Yeh pleaded guilty in January to felony counts of money laundering, fraudulent schemes and artifices, and illegal control of an enterprise.
Authorities say Yeh maintained a practice in Las Vegas, but spent one day each week at his pain management clinic in Golden Valley, Ariz.
He was accused of writing prescriptions for patients without getting their medical histories and submitting fraudulent and inflated bills to AHCCCS from January 2006 to February 2009.
