BELTON — A Bell County grand jury indicted a woman Wednesday on two drug related charges that indicate police believe she was a major drug dealer working in Killeen.
Jenille Marie Fields, 33, was indicted on charges of money laundering in the amount of $1,500 or more and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver four grams or more but less than 200 grams.
Killeen police arrested Fields April 21 and May 4. In April, she was detained on active warrants during a sweep of a motel in the 700 block of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard known to police for its prostitution and drug trade.
While officers were arresting Fields, she told a male in the motel room to take her small, pink purse.
Officers followed the man as he left the motel and pulled him over for an expired registration. The man, Karl Christmas, gave officers consent to search him.
Officers located the pink purse on Christmas and discovered it contained nearly $4,000 in cash. Fields later told investigators at Killeen City Jail that the purse belonged to her.
On May 4, officers pulled Fields over for speeding on State Highway 195.
During a search of Fields, they found an ounce of cocaine and an unspecified amount of marijuana hidden in her underwear. She also was found in possession of $360 cash.
Fields remains in Bell County Jail on the two felony charges and misdemeanor drug possession charges. Her bond is set at $81,000.
