A Longview man faces up to 140 years and a Marshall man faces up to 60 years in federal prison after being found guilty Friday of money laundering.
A jury found Tony Harris, 32, of Longview and Lakendrick Miller, 26, of Marshall, guilty after a three-day trial in Tyler, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Harris and Miller were involved in drug trafficking between April 2007 and June 2009, Bales said. Money was sent to California and used to buy illegal prescription drugs, he said. The drugs were smuggled from California to East Texas for distribution and money was sent back to California to buy more drugs, cars and property, he said.
More than $2 million was laundered, Bales said. The two men face prison sentences and a forfeiture judgment of $1.5 million each and forfeiture of vehicles. Sentencing dates have not been set.
